The power of vocational training

‍Vocational education provides young women with essential skills to earn a living, breaking the cycle of poverty and creating opportunities for self-reliance. In the north of Accra, many women lack access to such training, making the Ghana TVET project a lifeline.

Project details at a glance

Location: North of Accra, GhanaActivity: TVET (tertiary vocational education) in baking, cake-making, sewing, and dressmaking

‍People supported: Six trainees at a time (three in each programme)

Leaders: Vivian Nkasia, a sewing instructor, and a baking instructor

Monthly funding: £200 for both programmes
